1. Read 12 new books (1 per month)
I love to read. Love, love love it! When I started law school, I pretty much stopped reading for fun. Yes, I’ve read books here and there but nothing like I used to and definitely not 12 books a year. So that is my first goal for this year: read one book a month for all twelve months.
I started Gone Girl when I was home for Christmas and am still trucking through it (its great, just need to make more time for reading) so I’m counting that for January!
2. Plan at least one date night a month
This is pretty self-explanatory. We can get so caught up with work and volunteer activities and life that we forget to live it WITH each other. It might not be much but at least one night a month I want to do something with Chris that is just the two of us, spending time with each other.
3. Take one picture a day all year
You may have seen on Instagram that I’ve started this goal already, though I’ve already skipped a few days! Oops! But I’m not letting that stop me. It might not turn out perfect but it will be fun! Follow along with my hashtag #365kgm2015
4. Build an emergency fund/savings account
I am terrible at saving money. Most of the time, I have no idea what I would do if a major unexpected expense came up. I don’t like that feeling at all. I haven’t taken that Financial Peace University class (though I want to!) but I know that one of the first steps is to establish a savings account for emergencies. So that is the goal for this year. And if I can pay down some debt in the process, that will be awesome too!

As of the end of next month we'll have two loans paid off in full. Our next goal is definitely starting to set money aside, we would definitely be in trouble if some sort of emergency happened.

You could always read one of Dave Ramsey's books as one of your 12. I really got a lot out of them.

More date nights is such a good goal!
