I guess the title is kinda deceiving. There weren’t really any shenanigans this weekend. And there probably won’t be until at least Feb. 28th. Btw, T-minus one week until the bar
But here’s what I was up to this weekend
On Friday, I said goodbye to this little girl. This was the hardest adoption thus far and I really don’t anticipate any one ever being harder. I’m actually teary eyed as I type this because I miss my Tink baby so much. I know that she has a good home and for that, I am so happy. But I’m selfish and sad for myself, and I think that’s ok because she is really special to me.
On Saturday morning, it started snowing. It was coming down pretty quickly but melted before it hit the ground. This went on pretty consistently for about 6 or 7 hours but we had no accumulation here.
This girl also went to visit with a potential adopter on Saturday! Georgia is a 3 year old walker hound who I pulled from the shelter with Mereth about a week ago. She was clearly neglected and severely malnourished to the point of having a slightly curved spine. I only fostered her for about a week but it was great to see the changes in her in just one week! And I know she has found her person, he’s about 99% positive he’s going to adopt her, he just has about 1% more convincing to do. So pray that Georgia uses her good manners!
On Sunday morning, I tried out this new donut/biscuit place in Durham and it was fabulous! Durham has one Dunkin Donuts that I know of and that’s it as far as donuts go. And I’m a sucker for donuts! So I was really excited to find out Rise had opened and it is only about 5 minutes from my house! There was about a 15-20 minute wait but it was totally worth it!
After a Triangle Pets Alive meeting and church, I went home to studying and cuddling with my wonderful pups, including my other little foster baby, Riley! We pulled her along with Georgia. She is a 4 month old lab mix and seriously the BEST puppy ever! She has a little playful side but is so calm and just wants to cuddle with you. She becomes a little rag doll when you pick her up and is just the happiest little baby being in your arms.
So lots of Bar studying and missing my Tink baby this weekend. Here’s some more of my favorite pictures of her!
Thank goodness for wine!

Hi Kristyn. I recently found your blog and have been following but had no clue that you were so close. I live in Raleigh and work in Chapel Hill…small world huh? I recently discovered Rise too and OMG it is amazing. I am trying to lost weight so it's a struggle not to go but they have amazing food. Good luck with the bar!!!

oh my gosh – i didn't know you fostered dogs – i love that! i would love to do it but i am not home enough (plus i'd be so sad to let them go – i'd end up with a million dogs living with me haha.) i hope to foster once i'm home more. tink is the sweetest cutest baby – love her chubby puppy paws!! it must be so sad to let them go, but it's so good you're helping them find a new home. good luck with the bar!!

That is SO cool that you foster dogs. I would totally do that if my apartment allowed dogs. Do you help facilitate the adoptions? Good luck with the bar!!
