As the new year has rolled around, so has all the talk about new beginnings and what resolutions people are making. Why do people need a new year to make resolutions to be better people or opportunities to start anew. We should constantly be striving to be better people and improve our lives for ourselves and those around us. We should constantly be evaluating our actions and thoughts while knowing that there is always room for improvement.
This year I really don’t want a new beginning but only a year bigger and better than the last. 2010 was such an amazing year for me in all things, especially when it comes to relationships. I resolve in 2011 to continue to work on my relationships; to grow closer to God, Jeff, my family and my friends. In the spirit of a new year, I would also like to propose a few goals for myself and hope that by posting them on this blog, I can evaluate my progress throughout the year and make new changes and goals as time passes.
I would really like to work on my saving. While I’m good about working on a budget, I’m not good about saving any extra leftover from that budget. I hope to be more conscious when I am spending money and only buying things that I need and things that will have a place when I bring them home. In addition, I am making a concerted effort to declutter my life. Now that Jeff has moved in, we really need to start finding a place for everything. We also have two wonderful roommates so we have 3 sets of everything which makes storage a little cramped. But I’m working on it! I really do not like throwing things out so I will be making frequent trips to goodwill and looking for new organizations to make donations.
Overall, I really just want to work on being a better person and I encourage all of you all to do the same!
